We have painted the walls, baseboard, put down new padding and carpet. Still a smell of smoke. The smell is permeating into the sofa. I can actually taste it. We did not know that the woman who sold the house smoked - thought the odor was from being closed up for 6 months and that she had had pets. When you say pour baking soda in a cooking pan and then alcohol - are you meaning rubbing alcohol or an alcoholic beverage? If the latter, is there any thing else that will take the odor out. I have also put fresheners in the closets, but I can still detect the smell of smoke in my clothes. Yuck! Please advise.
