My fireplace is made of red brick and extend from floor to ceiling. I want to build a fireplace mantel of wood and cover the brick to the ceiling and around the sides (18") of the fireplace. There is a wall space of 50 inches on each side of the fireplace that I want to build shelves and then at the floor, I want to add doors to look like a cabinet for storage. Can you please help me with step by step instructions and also how to attach it to the fireplace. Also after you build the frame of the mantel, which moldings go on and in what order.
