See if any of these ring a bell--which can affect grout color. 1.)Grout was not let sit for 10 min after mixing to let ingredients slake (react properly after mix) 2.) Grout clean-up after floating into joints was done before joints were firm, or with overly wet sponging. 3.) Water was added to grout after initial mix to loosen it in order to lengthen working time for application.
