you have to sand the area (just take the shine off)that the adhesive is to be applied and it will adhere,the tub is originally made by spraying gelcoat onto a waxed mold and that is how they remove from mold without it adhering to mold then they spray chopped fiberglass and resin on it then "roll out" the air pockets while laminating to the cured gelcoat surface,just thought Id throw the process in I used to repair at a manufacturing plant in florida.
