a box was built out of pressure treated 2x4's, and covered with sheet metal from a recycled above ground pool. i primed and painted it a neutral grey so that it looked fine in the yard. anyway, the pipes of our well (including a faucet) that extended above the surface were wrapped with common insulation one would normally put in walls, and then covered with the box. a low budget solution that effectively took care of the problem.
