Would temperature changes in the lathe & plaster wall around the chimney in our 150-year old home cause the wallpaper to peel off, mostly around the seams and toward the middle of the wall, but not at the top or bottom. The wallpaper feels stiff and brittle, too. If not temperature, then what could the problem be and how can we fix it? I'd like to repaper the wall, but don't want to have the same problem.
