duct work with anti-mildew

I recently had new ducts put in my central heating and cooling system .In the cooling mode everything is okay , but when the furnace is turned on ,I get a chemical smell and it burns my skin , nose and eyes . Could this be coming from the anti-mildew duct board used on the plenum area ? The co.I bought it from , say no ...but I am not convinced .
