Yes the contract is poorly written and does leave a something to be desired. Is this the only problem? Just the light fixtures? Or does it extend throughout the contract for plumbing fixtures, kitchen cabinets, carpets, etc?
If this allowance problem extends throughout the contract, it is definately a battle worth fighting over. If allowances only apply on light fixtures, you may win the battle and then lose the war with the rest of the project.......
