I live in Illinois -central and have a new house with a poured concrete basement that my husband wants to insulate the walls and after reading the inforation you gave a person in connecticut I was wondering what r value should I have and insulation does come with a vapor barior why do I need to put up plastic and do I need a double vapor barior? One against the concrete and the other agaist the dry wall? Do I need to insulate the ceiling of my basement? Would a reflective type of insulation work? My floors upstairs are cold even though we have carpeting.
