My town house has a central electric furnace (and electric hot water and an electric hot tub) and my power bills are sky high. My last power bill for my 2bdr/2ba unit was $216!!!
Would it be worthwhile to replace my electric (resistance) furnance with a heat pump? I live just east of San Diego, so it doesn't get TOO cold in the winter, but still cold enough to need heat.
If I do take the heat pump route, about how long will it take the system to pay for itself in energy savings?
