Basement Drop Ceiling

I know this subject has been discussed many times, but I have not found an answer to my specific question. I need to box around HVAC ducts running along my basement ceiling to accommodate drywall. How do I anchor the 2X4's to the floor joists? It doesn't seem that just nailing would be sufficient; do I need to use a certain type of metal brace or bracket? Thanks. Was this post helpful?
