My basement is heated except for a small room in the front where the water and gas pipes come in from the street. About two weeks ago I notice the main floor's wooden floor (above my the small unheated room) started to warp (very much so). I immediately thought humidity. I went downstairs to find all the pipes especially the ones that come in from the street are sweating (alot) it looks like a bad leak. but there is no leak. What do I do,insulate the pipes? but they are already wet. The small room is iced over. Do i insulate everything?? how do i get rid of the wetness (well mostly the frostyness)?? It sweats the most, where the heated pipes meet the unheated pipes.
