hot water. There is a tool "as seen on TV" web sight that is used to clean gutters. It is nothing more than a long pipe with a hook on the end that you connect a hose to. simple run the hose from your hot water outlet from your washing machine outside to the tool and let the hot water melt the ice. Do it on a sunny day that will help the water to drain before it refreezes. good luck
