Kitchen floors are not exposed to the water that bathroom floors are.
If you decide to install a wood floor in the bath, YOU MUST CLEAN UP ANY WATER that gets on the floor NOW, PERIOD.
Bath mats only hold water, expect to have this floor buckle and possiably mold if it is not kept absolutly dry. Be prepaired to replace the floor if the toilet ever overflows.
