Our contractor tried to dismiss our suggestion to insulate our driveway (placing a insulating barrier between the pipes and the ground) - but we adamantly insisted. Our bill for 6 weeks of heating was $86. Our neighbor - who has no insulation under her pipes - and a driveway a third the size of ours had a bill of $500!!! Does insulation make a difference? You bet it does!
