I had the same problem when I moved into a New Condo. Would you belive it ,they put the cheapest Exaust fans they could get away with. And I'm 90% deaf.Go to www nutone.com and select a fan and replace the one you have.They have the ultra-quiet one's that are really great.Or you could get a pair of ear protectors when you have to go!
