This does work... after icing the area for 5-10 mins, ice in a plastic bag too. Get a brownpaper bag. You may want to tear it into medium size pieces, place it over the wax, take iron and go over it several times, moving the bag to clean spot. The wax will start to come up,you may have to still get some pieces left on the carpet. It may take a while, but it works.
