We're buying a house which has terrific old metal kitchen cabinets dating from when it was built in 1953-54. They were luxury, real state-of-the art with lots of unique storage features for the time. We really like them and want to keep them. There is some surface rust and they need to be repainted.
What's the best way to go about this? Looks like we should be able to remove the doors. What steps should we take and what type of primer/paint should we use? We're first-time homebuyers, so we've not had the opportunity for hands-on stuff before - Just watched it done on TV!
