We're in the same sitch. We removed carpeting to find a 4' x 3' patch of lino on top of the hardwood (placed adjacent to the front door). The lino is crumbling around the edges. How long does it take to find out if there's asbestos in it? And what happens if we DO remove it and the contractors come in and sand... does that mean what I think it means? (Asbestos --> lungs --> cancer)
