This may sound like a silly questions to you home-improvers out there....but, I tore down the 12'x12' cardboard tiles in my living room. They were attached to the joists by furring strips. I was wondering if I could screw new drywall right into those strips or if it is best to take them down. Also, what thickness drywall should I use for a ceiling. Please help....quick! Thanks.
