Asphalt removal left from hardwood floors.

I currently bought a home with hardwood floors that are severly damaged. So we we ripped out the wood. and were lwft with black asphalt all over the floor.

My question is how woul I be able to remove the asphalt easily so we could install NEW wood flors?
