I suspect you meant that a small amount of CO is present rather than CO2. CO2 is normal in air. The presence of CO indicates a leak between the heat exhanger and combustion / flue gas section of the furnace. The fix is more expensive than new. Until you purchase a new one, buy an inexpensive CO monitor. It will give you a warning before matters become serious.
