hampton bay fan and lights

We have had this fan installed in our bedroom for a number of years, bought at Home Depot. Recently it started turning the lights on all by its lonely little self, with no action on our part. Even in the middle of the night. At first it was spooky but we are used to it now. Would sure like to know what causes it and how to correct it.
Any suggestions.
