Recently I removed and cleaned out all of our very old and critter invested wool insulation from our attic. The critters are not coming back! We now have a clean slate to start from and was wondering what would be best for re-insulating this area. This area will not be used for storage or anything else. We are waiting for quotes to come back for blown-in insulation, during which the estimators each told different stories as to what was best. We live in southern New Jersey as a reference. My questions are.....
1) Which is best, cellouse or fiberglass and why???
2) What about a vapor barrier for either, one said it was needed and the other did not?
3) Which will last longer???
4) Why not just do batting?
Could anyone please give us a straight answer here??
