I just put in a call for the service man to come out and fix the same problem. I am going to guess it is a fault in the controller or thermocouple. Fortunately I have a home warranty and this is going to cost $45, which means I won't DIY this time. Sometimes ya just gotta know your limitations. Complex controllers with high voltage electical systems and flammable gas fits that description for me.
