We just bought our first home. It is about 90 years old. The brick around the fireplace was painted so we stripped it. For some reason the brick we stripped has the same texture as the brick on the hearth, but they are different colors. The hearth brick (which we didn't have to strip) is darker and has a sheen to it. Is it possible it has some sort of glaze on it? Where can I find a "paint-on" glaze so I can match the two brick colors?
