Barbara, it's fairly obvious why you would wish to move your thermostat, due to the wood stove, but one note to add to Harold's comments; be sure that your new location will serve your thermostat adequately.
Preferrably this area of wall does not get direct sunlight, is not near a heating/cooling register, is not near a corner where airflow is stagnated.
