I recently purchased a home that was constructed in 1970 with aluminum electrical wiring.
How dangerous is this situation?
I thought about rewiring but it the house was sired with sheathed electrical cable type of wiring and therefore would be very difficult to pull new wire.
It appears that the outlets are pigtailed with copper wire. Is this OK? I've seen special wire nuts for connecting aluminum wire to copper wire. Are these necessary.
