Also you may want to try a polyurethane caulk. It will stretch and not dry out as easily as the latex/silicone mix. It is cheaper than the pure silicone caulk. Also, it is paintable. The cleanup is not as easy as the latex caulk.
If it is new construction, your builder should be able to guide you and answer your questions about the caulk. Absolutely do not let him talk you into latex caulk without any silicone additives. It is the cheapest available and you will knoe why when it dries out and cracks in a year.
