It propably cost a lot less than you think to have it repaired. The exact same thing happened to me. I called the store where I purchased the carpet & they put me in touch with the installer. He only charged $90 to repair a 3' section of carpet-I had a string of cig burns all along the front of my sofa. You can't tell now that there was ever a repair done. we have a berber carpet with a pattern, he did great work-cheap!
