Plan on installing a new 3/4 subfloor to 16 oc floor joists, The type of sub floor I'm using is plywood with the tongue and grove type joints. When installing, is it correct to not fully insert the tongue completely into the grove and leave 1/8 inch spacing at the edges (width of 8 common nail)- and also can you use the same general construction adhesive you use to bond the sheets to joist in the tongue and grove connection? I'm also planning to use 1 3/4 deck screws to fasten sheets to the joists - 6 inch spacing at joists and 8 inch in the field.
