What is it like now? Does it have a clear film finish on the outside? Do you want to refresh the cedar smell on the inside? About what year was the chest built and has it been refinished since then? Do you have any idea exactly what any finish might be? This probably is a situation where less is best, but knowing where you are starting will be a big help.
