Hi Chris,
I am assuming it is a split pin going through a gear and shaft. Go to the hardware store and buy a punch that is specially made to drive out roll pins(it will have a small ball at the tip). This punch must be slightly smaller than the hole through the gear and shaft. Line the punch up with the roll pin and use a hammer(wear safety glasses) to drive out the pin.
