I live in Washington Dc where we recently got 25" of snow on the ground and a good portion of it is still here. On top of that, we got an additional 1.5" of rain yesterday. My basement(unfinished) has 2" of water in it and it is coming in from 3 places: the west side from a small pin hole, the south side from where the wall meets the floor out a hole the size of a pea, and a seam between the floor and the wall on the north side of the basement. The water seems to stay at about 2" and does not keep filling. We probably would not have this if we did not have so much snow and water on the ground however, I am wondering how I can prevent this again and (more importantly)is this a a major repair?
