Hi Donna, I am in the process of doing the same and I am using "Peel Away 7" to strip mine. My house is 150 years old so I was sure there was lead paint under all that paint somewhere so this product was recommended because it is safe to use indoors and neutralizes the lead in the paint and will remove 30 or more coats at one shot. This is available at Sherwin Williams and most Home Depot stores. Good Luck:))
