Remove lead paint safely

hi,
i am in the process of renovating a 1910 house and most if not all surfaces contain lead paint. i dont want to take any risks or harm my health.

i would like to know if there is a totally safe way to remove the lead paint? what precautions should be taken and what products can be used?
