....it was installed backwards to begin with, Tracy; any vapor barrier (brown, kraft paper facing) should have been towards the living space, on the bottom when looking at the insulation from the attic side.
If it's no longer in tact, don't worry about it, but in areas where you can, I'd remove any large pieces of the paper before blowing in the additional.
