I have a house with a cedar shingle roof. Just what is appropriate care for his type of roof for a Portland,Oregon type of climate e.g. lots of rain in the winter which seems to soften the shingles and lots of sunshine in the summer which can make the ends turn up.
Some contractors try to sell a process of power washing and then spraying on a zinc or copper based compound for longer life. I have heard both pro and con on this type of cedar roof treatment.
What do you recommend for a cedar shingle roof.
