Being the owner of one of those turn-of-the-century money pits, I can guarantee you will never get all the drafts out of it. Even if you rebuild all the windows (done), foam all the floor joints and outlet boxes (done), insulate the walls and floors and attic (done), and replace the old heating plant (done), it's STILL going have leaks and drafts. It's the nature of the beast.
If you're really into energy efficiency to the point of self-reliance, you'd better build from scratch.
