These are pretty easy and inexpensive to cover, Deborah. Shellac covers them well. You can use either Zinnser's White Shellac or their B-I-N primer. The primer has a white pigment in it to make it easier to see what you have painted and it can be tinted but will not have the color depth or hiding power of paint.
