We have installed Durock concrete board on the wall behind a Vermont Casting wood stove. We finished the Durock with drywall mud to obtain a smooth surface. We want to paint the wall behind the stove. The stove and its initial flue, before it enters the chimney, is quite close to the wall, approximately a foot. The wood stove makes the wall very hot to touch. Is there a paint that can safely take the heat and not discolour? Thank you for any advice you can give. Kindest regards.
