I am in the process of building a mezzanine floor which is situate on the side of a small but high walled lounge area. The object is to use same as a study area, or even a spare bed room.
Because of the relatively small area of the lounge, it is undesirable to have a permanent staircase. I am looking for ideas and designs for a retractable (or similar) ladder which may be used. I probably had in mind something that could be used in a loft room, although there is no need for an opening in the floor area. Access could be gained from the side of the mezz.. floor with the necessary safeguards. All ideas and any designs will be welcome bearing in mind budgetry constraints. Thanks, Jack.
