I am renovating my basement and insulated the ceiling with Roxul Safe'N'Sound insulation to help muffle sound between the basement and the main level.
My question is, when installing recessed lighting can I use lighting designed for non-insulated ceilings, or do I still need to install the bulky IC rated boxes around the lighting? The reason I ask is that the drywall is already up and I want to add 2 more additional lights (I used the boxes for the rest of the basement to be safe).
The product claims it is fire resistent and even shows a picture of a blow torch against the insualtion.
