Cleaning up stucco chimney

I just ripped down an old wood lattice that was attached to my white stucco chimney. The stucco has been stained (maybe worn) underneath it and I can still see the "shadow" of the lattice. If this is stained, can I clean it? If it is worn, how can I clean it up? Paint? More stucco? Any help appreciated.
