I verified that the OSB is 23/32 and the joist spacing is 16" O.C. The floor in the entry area (small part of the total area) has some delam due to the previous owner removing vinyl flooring...the joist are running parallel to the direction that I want the floring to go. Installing the 3/8" plywood would leave the finished door opening at just a hair below 6'-8". The question is can I install the flooring parallel to the joists if I put down the 3/8" plywood.
