I am looking to build a platform bed for a relatively low cost. I am interested in the style where the look is very simplistic and male. The matress would be only about 2-2.5 inches thick. On the side of the matress the platform would stick out about 5-6 inches of Flat wood and it would be on both sides and at the foot of the bed. I am also thinking of making the bed between 2-2.5 feet off the ground and away from the boards extending from the side having maybe two levels of would sticking out 1/2 a foot from the perimiter of the above level, (like a stair) ___ If you have any info.
