Try proping open the flap on the outside of the house where the vent exits.........if that's on the roof then the bird may not be able to get up that far again.........

You could open the kitchen door(s)that lead to the outside...........close off any other doorways.....wearing gloves and eye protection remove the filter and see if the bird can exit this way.......Careful......Good Luck doug
