What would cause a 5-1/2' x 7' slab of driveway concrete to rise up 1-1/2" over an extremely short period of time? It seems to have literally "popped up" overnight. The slab is not cracked or broken.
Could it be caused by frozen water that has accumulated below ground? I'm thinking of a broken water line but hoping that this is not the problem!
Could it simply be this nasty Ohio winter that has been cold, cold, cold, with measurable snow?
Or, would it most likely be the Norway maple tree that is positioned to the side of the driveway? I think maple trees tend to have more shallow root systems.
