Sounds like the tank is water logged. Air will compress. Water will not. If water logged, you will need to turn power off to the pump, drain the water from your tank to approx. 1/2 to 5/8 full. If that doesn't resolve the problem, check check the pressure switch per installation instructions. Good luck.
