I recently purchased a very nice double wide mobile home. Unfortunately, the walls are done with vinyl coated drywall panels, and instead of mudding & taping they simply put a piece of bead (which like like very cheap molding) over the seam. I would like to know the best way to refinish these walls. I would like to paint them but was wondering the best solution. The mobile home mfgr. suggested NOT trying to strip the vinyl as it would damage the drywall beneth it. Should I remove the bead, mud & tape then put some type of primer or wall coating over that and then paint? HELP!! I hate these nasty panels!! Thanks, I am anxiously wainting to hear!
